Alright new member here and i am trying to make use of one of our older routers as a wireless repeater to extend WIFI signal to my barn. I know this is an older setup but before it hits the trash i would like to make use of it. I read once on the web of possibly flashing the ROM to a different one that has the options to be used as a repeater or access point etc. TIA

How you plan use the router, and how many you want use? And also what type of help you need?
You know how set up? And what is your specific question?

"Maybe" it will work. DD-WRT firmware will load on the device but because it has so little memory you likely can not load the full feature version. You need to see if there is a build that has the repeater function in it that will fit in your memory. The repeater function was not even available back when that router was new.

The main issue is your main router may not accept a 802.11g signal using WDS..which is required to make the repeater work. WDS is not even actually part of the official 802.11n standard. The router manufactures have just managed to do it in a way that now works across router brands.

Even if you get it to work it is going to be very slow. 802.11g only get maybe 5m or so. When you run it in a repeater mode it will be at least 50% less.
