We got a new auto-launcher mechanism from Stern to replace the worn-out one
in a ST:25th we have in the shop- not exactly the same unit (its for a
Simpsons Pinball Party) but looks like it will fit/work just the same as the
older DE model (haven't got around to installing it as yet). So you might
consider this route, since the original mechanism isn't available new
anymore, and any "used" parts from one that you might find are typically
beat to a pulp and not worth it anyway.

Use a ball shooter from Space Jam, mount it close enough so it has
clearance to strike the ball, line up a coil in a Sling bracket right
behind it. If you want to see some pictures Ray I'll show you how I've
come up with the solution to the breakage :)

Correct- the trouble, though, is finding a good condition one to replace
your missing/worn-out one with. If your's is worn out, then figure most
every other game out there is about the same, too. That's usually the case
on these.

This unit isn't being made anymore and not available through Stern Pinball,
so if you need the exact unit, you're only choices are to find a used one
from another game. Which is hard to find in good shape- these things took
an absolute beating out in the field and few have survived well over the
years- in fact, most that we run across on repairs/service calls have
obviously been repaired numerous times before- chunky welds, creative
"MacGyver-ing", and more fun stuff always abounds.

To replace the worn-out one in a ST:25th we have in the shop, we opted to go
with a modern Stern auto-launch unit from a Simpsons Pinball Party. So far
it looks like it will work/fit, but haven't got around to actually
installing it yet. The key with these (and everything we sell/send out) is
reliability- don't want to have to do the same repair twice- so 'new' was
the only thing we'd accept for this one. I think it will do fine.

If anyone needs one, let me know, and we can order you one with our next
order into Stern.
