WTB i5-2500K or similar

Any overclockable ("K" series) Sandy Bridge or Ivy Bridge 1155 CPU will do. I just need something to plop in my Gigabyte GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3 for a build for a friend as I've upgraded my mobo. Thanks.

If you are near a Microcenter they have great deals on processors

not to be a negative newton, but why look for a overclock chip for a simple
power-phase board. you might get 4.0 stable without overheating the phase regulator.
id use a non-k and call it done.. those should be falling out of the sky for under $100...
youll pay $150 or more for something that won't be used to its potiental. tbh, i'd use
an i-3 21xx for that board. others have not done well on OC with that short of phase
control.

I used an i7-2600K for a year at 4.4GHz without a single hitch on this board--VERY stable. I know that's not advised, which is why I upgraded. But I bet it'll do 4.1GHz for years. I suppose if I can find a non-K i5 for the right price, it would be worth it.

I suppose a $100 i5-2400 would be pretty nice.

Unfortunately, neither my friend nor I are near a Micro Center.
