You may be talking about two different games here. V4V did include a
Utah Beach game. However, the later World at War series, which is a
more advanced game than V for Victory, included American Invades!,
which covered both Utah and Omaha Beaches. Operation Crusader and
Stalingrad were the first two game of this series. Like all Atomic
games, the three W@W games have problems with bugs that were never
patched. However, the bugs in Operation Crusader and Stalingrad are
fairly minor, while America Invades! has a problem with artillery
(units behind the lines are bombarded just as effectively as if they
were in contact with the enemy, which is devastating) that some
consider crippling.

Have you played the Close Combat series of computer games? The last two
instalments, by Atomic games, Battle of the Bulge and Normandy (Utah Beach)
were excellent, much better than their Microsoft precursors. I wish Atomic
would come out with their own version of Market Garden or some other battles.
They did such a fantastic job with the Close Combat engine.

I agree. Ihave the whole series apart from the first one.
I would like them to do a desert or Italy one and a pacific one. The
14th Army in Burma would be a perfect subject for a game od this type.

I have them all except for the first one as well. Close Combat IV and V
definitely set a standard for RTS games as far as I'm concerned. I'd love to
see campaigns in the Pacific, Italy and Desert represented too. I think Atomic
could do a good job with just about any theatre of operations using their CC
engine. I wouldn't change a thing to it, except maybe improve the AI opponent
a little. Otherwise I still think the graphics are excellent, even by current
standards.
