Www seagate com/installation

i have bought a seagate 500gb and i want to put films on then play on the tv i can put the films onto the seagate but when i try to put them onto tv it says not recognised i am not a wizz kid so if anyone can help,
i can put films onto a pen and they play ok should i be doing something else as well as pluging it into tv

The usb ports on tv's and other devices like dvd players etc. can't play back from hard drives, only usb sticks.
To do what you want, you will need a media player like one of these in the link.
