Question X670E Gaming Plus and Samsung 970 EVO M.2 compatibility

Greetings,

I'm currently picking out components to upgrade my motherboard and CPU. The motherboard I've currently settle on is the MSI X670E Gaming Plus. On my current motherboard I have two Samsung 970 EVO M.2s but that model is not on the list of compatible storage devices (https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/X670E-GAMING-PLUS-WIFI/support#hdd). How concerned should I be here?

Should I assume that my M.2s won't work or have they simply not tested older models?

I guess they must not have tested models before the 980, but I can't imagine the 970 models not working on that motherboard. Both the motherboard and the SSD are one of the most popular models on the market. I don't think MSI could afford those SSDs not working on that motherboard.
