x800xt in agp or pci e

guys please help me in this one

i have amd athlon 2800+ 754 socket
gigabyte triton agp motherboard
i have msi 6600gt agp card im plannin to buy x800xt AIW

please tell me if its ok to buy the agp card or just change the motherboard alone to pci e and buy a pci e card if so what motherboard should i buy for my processor help me in this one

if possible please give me links
 
Um, not enough info really. The X800XT is far superior to your card. It would only be worth going PCI-e if you plan on going with a 7800GT, X1800XL, ot higher. Otherwise, the AIWX800XT AGP is cheap(I just got one for $230) and will give just as good perfomance as a PCI-e card of that price. If however you spend more, the 7800GT is clearly faster. I'm thinking that the A64 2800+ will bottleneck the 7800GT in some games. Nothing wrong with either route. It depends what you want to spend and how much work you want to put into a new mobo and OS reinstall. Persoanlly, I'd got X800XT AIW on that S754 cpu over a new mobo and PCI-e card. But it depends on your games, monitor, resolution, needs, and budget.
