I went out and bought an xbox one controller and a micro USB cable to use it on my pc. I can tell it's getting power from the PC, because when I press the home button it flashes and there are no batteries in it. It's just not reading it. I've installed the driver, reboot the computer, reinstalled, nothing is working. Suggestions?

This is the same one I downloaded, just straight from the Microsoft site

ohh, the micro USB cable is a charge cable. Not an input cable.

You need the bluetooth adapter.

But microsoft said you can use the controller wired with the micro usb cord...

Well I guess we're both half right. The cord I bought for the xbox one controller, will only wire on the xbox one. BUT, I just tried it with one of my phone chargers and it worked.

Makes sense. The Xbox One cable is just a charge cable, it runs over bluetooth. The phone charger is a data cable, and you just saved yourself a $50 "proprietary" cable :)

The cable I bought was only like 7 bucks
