[SOLVED] Xbox One controller randomly stops responding on PC.

So yesterday I got an Xbox One wireless controller (latest version with built-in BT) since my ages old Xbox 360 wireless controller finally kicked the bucket, and I thought this new gamepad should work fine on PC with any Bluetooth adapter of version 4.0 or higher (got a TP-Link UB400) but...it randomly stops responding when playing games. The device doesn't disconnect, doesn't show the pulsating light on it (which is what it should show when the device disconnects) just stays connected but unresponsive until I Alt+Tab or turn it on/off again. This issue only happens when using it wireless, it came with a long USB-C cable and works without interruptions when connected that way. Drivers are up to date as well so was wondering what is the device at fault here, the controller or the USB BT adapter? Unfortunately don't have a console or other devices to which connect it for more troubleshooting.
