[SOLVED] Xbox one controller suddenly stopped working on my pc alone

My xbox one controller stopped working suddenly halfway through a game, and it hasn't worked for longer than 20 seconds since. I have tried updating drivers, reinstalling the device, different cables, different usb ports, it works on my housemates pc just fine, and i'm running out of ideas. When i unplug and plug it back in, it works for maybe 20 seconds before either repeating the last input until it's unplugged or not taking any new inputs. Sometimes when it is re plugged an error comes up saying "the last usb device plugged in malfunctioned..." and I don't know why its happening. As I said before, there seems to be no issue with the controller on other computers

check your usb ports see if you could try another one on this pc to plug it .

making a post myself was my final straw after going through every fix that came up on google for a week

this controller https://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Wired-Controller-Windows-Console/dp/B004QRKWLAccheck the usb connector on it or it could be the xbox itself did you try to use another controller in the same port on the xbox you could have a short in the pins middle are data outside for power .
