Really looking for help here. I got my Xbox One S (BF1) and I have so far been happily playing on it. The screen I use is 4K so I have been trying to get 4K settings to work, and I have once but cannot duplicate it because changing another setting undid it, and it's locked to 1080p. I changed the color depth (24/30/36bit) to 30 bit after resetting the settings to default and the screen is permanently black. I have tried all of microsofts solutions to reset display settings and have tried to find further assistance online to no avail. Does anyone know if it's possible to hard reset the Xbox. I wouldn't mind even factory resetting the whole thing, I only have two games right now, of which I play one (BF1). The only solutions I have found are by going through the UI. But obviously I can't navigate that (I've tried), the screen is black 100% of the time.
It's also not the HDMI ports or cable I've tried another that I know works (at least via PC).

Thank you to those who responded, for whatever reason, letting the console just sit for a day, then unplugging the power, counting to ten, turning on the console, then turning it off via 10 second power button hold, then turning it back on via holding the power and eject button seemed to have worked.

Have seen that page but I have actually already tried that just being hopeful. Didn't work for me. Will be trying the TV in my living room when I get a chance.

Hopefully that will work for you, bit odd how the console basically bricked itself just by you changing the display properties...

Have you tried this: "Press and hold the Xbox button and the Eject button until you hear a beep to turn on the console. Note This will boot your console in a low resolution mode (640 × 480). To reset these settings again, press the Menu button, select Settings, and then select Display & sound."

I have a feeling you would have already seen this but worth posting here anyway just in case :)
