I bought one of the wireless adapters today because I was tired of being tethered to my PC playing Dark Souls 3 on my TV, only to find that it does not work at all.

I followed every step I could find online, went through catalog update in Internet Explorer, downloaded the driver for x86 for Win 7 and 8.1, with no luck.

Tried it on another PC and it seemed to work, I didn't even have to go through the catalog update... Just told it to search windows update and it worked. (No games to try the controller with, but it connected and showed up properly under device manager). On my main PC however, it just will not work, giving me Code 1, "Driver is not intended for this platform". I have Windows 7 Enterprise 64 Bit, SP1. Could this be why? It's got me really irritated, and my dumb self bought the adapter at Gamestop instead of a store with a return policy.

Thanks TH community!

Just checked under Microsoft Update Catalog, and the only drivers pertinent to the Xbox Wireless adapter are either x86 or AMD64 (And except for two, said Windows 10 and later). Everything else that turns up when searching "Xbox Wireless" is for the 360 wireless receiver or play and charge kit.

Really scratching my head here :??:
