xeon 5670 Cpu for 3d/render

I am planning to build a cpu for 3d render/simulation. Does anyone has experience with x5670 processor ?

Is it really quad socket compatible-so i can put four of them in one cpu?? If so than can anyone please suggest a compatible quad socket motherboard. Looking at specs four of these would make a really powerful pc,but i have not seen any mention or benchmark for quad socket. Price wise also cost of the system is very low - so why use i7 or newer very expensive xeons?

Those X56xx CPUs were everywhere. But most of them are in 2U servers. 2U servers are LOUD. If you really want to play with these CPUs I would recommend finding a used HP z800, or Dell T5500, T7500 or even an HP ML350 ...These are all larger cases with quieter fans.
