Can someone explain to me the Xeon CPU designation? How they match up to their Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge, Haswell, etc. counterparts. And how the Name/Number references dual core, quad core, etc. I keep having to refer back to Intel's ARK and it gets confusing and can't seem to catch on to the code. There must be an easy way to memory match them to their i Core brethren. Thanks.

Thank you. I see what you mean. Could Intel make it anymore cryptic than that? Sheesh! That chart must be something only a chip designer can love.
Btw, if v2 were Ivy Bridge, what were Sandy Bridge called? Just v? v1?
