MACHINIST X99 Desktop motherboard (great for 6 and 8 core) from the video description. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000383007258.html?spm=2114.12010615.8148356.1.2fff2a8aBH9bkZ £53.67

Not sure were the MACHINIST motherboard comes from (so use at your own risk) but states great for 6 and 8 core cpu's.

If you want too do overclocking without that you can give it a try with the 1650 v1 1650 v2 & 1650 v3 xeon all E5 16xx xeons should be unlocked starting from the 1650,1660,1680 some have pushed that V3 1650 too 5 ghz & air cooled you can push them fairly easily too 4.0 - 4.4 ghz its about 93 usd atm for the v3 xeon. There is a cheaper engineering sample but it does not have an unlocked multiplier but it has a 3.5 ghz turbo. Also this program is pretty old but try setting max multiplier via crystalcpuid on the turbo clock & see if you get anywhere with that, then you can setup a desktop shortcut too that clock speed.

The 1680v3 is very expensive. The 1660v3 is approx. £200. The 1650v3 is approx. £90 source.

Hi, I unlock speed for CPU Xeon E5-2678 V3 successful. After unlock successful, my CPU increase max speed core to 3.3 Ghz, very happy. But I have a problem: CPU auto reduce speed to 1.19Ghz when CPU load full performance a long time (several minutes). In this video I show about issue trouble: Xeon E5 2678 v3 unlock issue trouble: auto slow down clock speed core CPU. It's auto slow down from 3.3Ghz (max speed core) to 1.19 Ghz (very slow) and I can't fix it. I test with 2 app: hyper-v & camtasia use CPU Performance. My configuration: XEON E5 2678 V3, motherboard Huananzhi X99-TF, 64GB DDR3 RAM 1866 Ghz. See my video. Thank you.

There is the same issue with AMD Ryzen cpu's getting stuck at 500Mhz etc. See here, https://community.amd.com/message/2969921?commentID=2969921#comment-2969921

I would check my VRM temps. Also would try disabling c-states and speedstep to see if that helps. Could be a driver issue. There could be something wrong with the way to unload was applied or with the code for hacking the cpu. Or something wrong with the motherboard VRMs. I have never used the Huananzhi X99-TF motherboard and I have my old hardware has been given to someone else.

No one appears to be reporting the issue on the forums. There is also posts from people using your CPU but no one reports any issues.
