Hi there i was wondering if anyone could help me with a problem i seem to be having with the 7900gt i have. It is the XFX extreme edition 520/1500 and seems to work fine most of the time however whenever i play CS:source especially map de_dust2 it has major graphic glitches like texture going all weird and sometimes walls that disappear (i have attached a gif).

in this image the wall is showing the sky in front of me near the jumping CT, the wall near the CT to the left looks very weird, and the arch above me have a weird triangle sticking out of it....

Was wondering what could be the possible cause of this. I have swapped out my 7900 with my housemates 6600gt and it works fine. The problem can take a while to manifest itself (between 5 mins to 30mins) so i thought it could be heat but i have a well ventilated case with an intake fan at front and exhaust fan at the back and have checked the temps using atitool temp logging and it says max temp of card is 67c which is inline with what most ppl on net are saying is fine for 7900gt. I even pulled the side of my case and blew a deskfan on the card and while temps went down a bit the corruption still occured.

This is my second 7900gt, the first worked fine and didn't have these problems but after about 2 weeks it started showing weird colours and ascii code like symbols all over my screen so i took it back and they replaced it. I paid an extra $20 to get the xfx because the first one was a prolink card and i thought maybe theirs was not a high quality as it was an unknown brand.

I have have been building computers for years and have never had a problem with video cards anthing like this, have i just had bad luck and gotten 2 dud cards or is there something that my system could be doing to cause this?

any input much appreciated.

Try underclocking it to Nvidia spec. Elder Scrolls: Oblivion would dump me to POST every single time I tried running it before I figured out that my XFX overclocked card was causing the problem. After I underclocked it to standard Nvidia specs, I was able to play the game without any trouble at all. I don't feel like sending my card back but you might want to do so with yours. Get what you paid for and nothing less!

That looks like a memory issue; awhile back I fried a 6800GT and it looked like that on the Windows desktop. I say lower your memory speeds and see what happens.

Contact the manufacturer. I read some reviews that said the factory overclocked cards needed flashed. Or turn it back to stock speeds, that fixed issues for overclocked cards

Why would you pay more for an OC card just to run it at clock speeds. XFX is garbage. Both of my EVga 7900GT's are running just fine at 650/1800 with no issues whatsoever.
