XFX R9 280x vs PCS+ R9 290

I am going to be buying parts for a gaming tower (not including monitor and OS) and I would like to know which card is better for the price; The XFX R9 280x for $190 or the PCS+ Powercolor R9 290 for $240? I would be fine spending the extra %$50 on the PCS+ if it's really worth it, but i just don't know. With it I would either be getting an i5-4590 for $190 or the i5-4690k for $230. I would also like to know which one of those i should get. The cost for the tower is about $800 with the more expensive choices I described and I would like to know if the tower would still be great and worth the money with the cheaper parts. Are the better parts worth it?

The R9 290 is a step up from the R9 280X, and $240 for an R9 290 is a good price. I, personally, would go for it.

As for the I5-4590 or I5-4690K, it depends on if you plan on overclocking or not. Honestly, either will do great.
