Alright so Newegg is sold out of MSI 390's atm, and I've been hearing that that card has overheating issues, and the XFX 390 is the same price. Should I go for the XFX version or the MSI? Is there difference in performance?

Thanks!

(Also don't post here telling me to get the 970. I've singled that card out of my decision because the 390 has shown its more powerful than it in various benchmarks.)

XFX is a very solid brand. They have been building AMD GPU's for a while.

No difference in performance.

I agree with your choice of the 390 over the 970. The xfx version should be good which one are you looking at I think they make a couple diffrent versions? XFX has always made pretty decent cards the xfx 290's were pretty good so i dont see why the 390s wouldn't also be good. My personal favorite vendor for amd cards is sapphire have you checked out any of their cards?

I was considering Sapphire cause it looks like for the 390 the cooling would be a bit better but I've also heard that its huge, which shouldn't be a problem cause I'm considering a new case as well, but the price is also 20-30 more. Here's the card I'm looking at (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150729&cm_re=r9_390-_-14-150-729-_-Product).

The coreclock is a bit higher on the xfx but other than that they seem to be the same. I've been hearing that the MSI verison has some overheating issues but I'm not sure if that's still present on the xfx, so thats probably my main concern.

That version is solid.
