oh, I just saw your answers xD ...so apparently there are a lot of versions of this card... The one that you have, marco_89, I think it's just the classic one with a new design... Also, nope, no blue screen for me either... :)

In my country - Poland - there is an offer of buying these card, I mean "XFX Radeon HD7870 XT Tahiti LE 2GB". I think I'll get it, since it is for 167 EUR (225USD - I'm really doesn't know what country are ;P ) 😀 I'm afraid although about temps... And I'm pretty sure you cannot change thermal paste, because of warranty...

Hello all, I m from India and got the card having the same specs as u put in ur screenshot yesterday, I m a lil bothered about it heating up. So i wanted to ask you if this card is working fine yet or not :)

Hi Shiver, I got this same strange edition yesterday as my new gpu. Everything is the same, so temperatures are of a concern, so I wanted to know how is your card performing if you havent replaced it by now? :) Thanks a lot :)

Guys, for everyone who is having temperature problems...just install ''MSI Afterburner'', you can create a profile which changes the fan speed of the gpu at any specific temperature. :) Mine doesn't exceed 72 C at 100% load now! 😀 ( after 20 minutes of testing ). Here is a screenshot of my profile:

Hi, thanks for your reply. :) I tried to:
Set various MSI profiles including setting fan speed to 100% as soon as temperatures reached 60 degrees.
Reconfigure my cabinet to allow more air in the case.
Keep the side panel of the case open for easier heat dissipation.

Sadly, none of these seemed to work, so i replaced my GPU for a full refund and bought an nVidia GTX 760. Now temps never go above 81 degrees. But i admit that performance of this "strange edition" was a bit better than that of GTX 760 :)

. Got a nVidia GTX 760 instead which never goes above 81 degrees.

I just got the same exact one for my new rig! Good to hear that its actually better than what I expected. I plan to buy another and crossfire them but was just wondering, do I need to try and get another like it, or would I be ok crossfiring in a regular 2x6pin version? This is my first solo build so I'm relatively new to all this

As I understand it you'll need to have another Tahiti LE version of the card. Not sure if it has to be this 'strange edition'

Also I have this card and I have trouble getting it to run under 90 degrees at load 🙁 I always manually set the fan to 100% too :/ But it is a great card! After having looked up benchmarks for all the programs I needed to run, I was delighted and amazed at the performance trumping these benchmarks. Indeed the 'normal' Tahiti LE version is only about 5% worse than the 7950, and with its overclock I wouldn't be surprised at all if this was better AND over £150 cheaper here!

I appear to have the same card as you bar the bigger fans just ordered another 7870 but am now worried that it having a Tahiti it wont work in cross fire with the more normal one that i think i have ordered help????

Depending on where you ordered from, you may just have to return it. If its newegg you ordered from you could try and request an exchange and tell them what version you need. I'm in the same boat as you though I have yet to try and order my 2nd one for fear of the same thing. If you are able to get the proper one, whether through exchange or just getting the right one in the first place let me know.

dont worry i got a tahiti in the post so its fine they are both the same now im have truble witht the drives saying that im not part of the admin fgroup so i cant install them
