Hey there. This problem has been recurring for awhile now but seems to have popped up out of the blue. When I boot my PC, it seems to boot fine but I noticed that my GPU fans weren't spinning and then no display popped up on my monitors (yes plural, I have 2) Basically I'm here to ask if anyone has had a similar issue and if anyone has a fix. I can use my PC with the integrated graphics but that is not ideal. I thought it could be a grounding issue but that doesn't seem to be the case because the card draws power and the LED lights up. On boot the fans look like they want to go but then shut off (fans spin for around a half second). I've tried every solution I can find on here to no avail.

PC SPECS
GPU - XFX Radeon RX 460 4GB (Double Dissipation)
CPU - Core i5-6500
Main - MSI H110M Gaming Mobo
RAM - Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB DDR4 (2x4)
OS - Windows 10 Pro 64bit (Running Creators Update)
Main Drive - Crucial BX200 480GB SSD
Secondary Drive - Some trash HDD (I honestly have no idea)

If you need anything else just give me a yell but I've thought of everything I can. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

UPDATE I got it working finally after 2 hours. Although not an ideal solution, I pushed up on the back of my GPU (Near the case) VERY hard and my fans started spinning and I got display post. If anyone has anything they can put in to maybe help me understand why this is even a thing would be appreciated.

How are you connecting the monitors? Display port, HDMI, DVI-D are your choices with that card, which do your monitors use?

edit: If pushing on the card helped, that makes it sound like it's not seated right. These components can be very picky about being installed exactly right. I've had more than one computer not boot up because I didn't install a memory stick just right.

Connecting the Monitors via available ports. 1 is connected via DVI-D and one is connected via Display Port to DVI-D Adapter

The card is seated correctly because once the card starts correctly and I let go of it, it doesn't shut off.

If you possibly have another computer/mobo to test it out with this, I would go ahead and put it in another motherboard and looking at how it runs. It sounds like a graphics card problem to me, and I think you should just go ahead and RMA it after you test that the graphics card is having poor connection to the motherboard.

Also, test another graphics card (IF APPLICABLE) to the motherboard you tried to hook up the RX 460 to, see how it responds to that graphics card, etc. Good luck!

So what has come to my attention is that when I "Cold Start" my PC my GPU doesn't start. But if i push up VERY hard near the case it boots. and afterwards i can shutdown my pc as many times as i want and it will boot first time. Would that still suggest a GPU issue or could it be a grounding issue with my GPU and my Case? Or even a power issue or maybe even a specific pin not connected until I push it into place?

I have tried another card in my PC but not from cold start. It worked first go.

Alright, that cancels out the process of it being the PCI lane in the motherboard. Yes, we can come to the conclusion now that the graphics card bottom connectors to the PCI lanes have been damaged and now you need to send it in to the company for an RMA. Good luck!
