Xfx Rx 480 Gtr vs Black Edition

Solution
The Sapphire cools reasonably well at stock speeds and is a tonne cheaper than the XFX, about 3k from what I can see.
What retailer are you using?

I would even suggest to get the Palit 3GB 1060 over either, cheaper than both, cools well and performs the same as an RX 480 4GB.

The black edition comes factory overclocked at 1338mhz.
There is a GTR OC edition which is clocked at 1288mhz, so i assume the standard GTR is clocked at 1266mhz?
Anyway, if you don't plan on doing any overclocking yourself go with the black edition.

lol ok thanks! so if i go for the 4gb variant of the rx 480 their would be no big difference in performance in game. the next question is i have read alot about the dx12 compatibility of the new nvidia gpu thats why i am staying away from the nvidia gpu as of now. hehehehe sorry for the noob question. and this would be my 1st build

Nah, that's really a bunch of crap mostly, while SMD is stronger in DX12, the vast majority of AAA titles will be DX11 with a DX12 port until DX12 matures some time over the next two years.
Nvidia is typically much better optimized and more user friendly with better drivers.
If it's a first time rig get a 1060. 😉
