Xigmatek Dark Knight Night Hawk Frostbourne Cpu Cooler

So I'm Looking at this nice white cooler only 55 dollars in Australia and I'm wondering How this would compare to the 212 evo at 37 dollars. I really Like the look and I think it matches my going to be Black and White themed NZXT h440 build. And I'll be trying to hit at least 4.2 ghz on a 4670k on a Asrock Extreme4 board.

I have this cooler and it is decent but nothing better. It is also quite noisy

Get the 212 plus or EVO and a couple of nzxt white fans in push/pull and you'll match your fans and color scheme perfectly, have a better cooling solution, and still come in about the same price as the xigamatek cooler.

Adding a second fan to the EVO doesn't help cooling performance.

I have the Xigmatek Gaia and I love it. The Dark Knight is better than the CM Hyper 212 EVO and is rated top 5 on Frostytech.

The biggest weakness of the Frostbourne is the fan; its pretty anemic when compared to its previous iteration (the Night Hawk) which had a fan that went up to 2200 RPM, as opposed to 1500 RPM. At least its more quiet, though.

Either way, it should be up to the task. Tom's Hardware did a round-up, and the Frostbourne managed to cool an I7-4770K at 4.50 ghz and 1.25 volts, although it was at the limits of doing so.

As an alternative, look for the Enermax ETS-T40-W. It too is a cooler with a white-ceramic coating.

If the fan on the Frostbourne is the same as my Xigamatek Gaia at 1500 RPM then yes, you should get at least 4.2GHz on the 4670K and the ASRock Z87 Extreme4 motherboard because... I have that CPU and motherboard to test.

On 4.2GHz, idle low 30C, load on games 50-60C (CS:GO, Starcraft 2), AIDA64 Stress Test around 75C.

CPU Vcore Voltage 1.250
CPU Cache Voltage Auto
CPU Input Voltage 1.900

I can probably tweak it and lower the voltages, but it's working fine for me so far.
