So I just built my new PC and I’m using Corsair Vengeance DDR5 6000mhz RAM.

When I use any of the XMP profiles on the Asus Z790E motherboard, the PC crashes. I was able to get it stable by setting the vdd and vddq to 1.35 volts, but it’s supposed to be running at 1.4 volts for them both and I just don’t want to lose any performance. Is that voltage too low or is it fine? or should I just get a new kit of RAM?

Please post the exact kit model.
- Open command prompt (hit winkey, search for "cmd").
- Type in or paste this: "wmic memorychip get devicelocator, partnumber"
What is the partnumber?

Since it's a Gigabyte board, install Gigabyte Control Center and install updates. Skip Norton because it's not useful in any way.
You can also use GCC to update to latest BIOS, or at least to check which BIOS version is currently installed.

Possibly the kit is not compatible with the motherboard, or BIOS is out of date. You never know how long a motherboard sits on a shelf before someone buys it.

I updated bios, and it’s a asus z7903 board. But it booted with xmp 2 finally but crashed shortly later, and crashed in xmp 1 and xmp tweaked.

I’ll get the memory model in a second, but the only way I can get it to boot is by turning the vdd and vddq voltage down to 1.35

This is the motherboard? https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-z790-e-gaming-wifi-model/

The CMH32GX5M2E6000C36 kit is not listed as compatible with 14th gen CPUs. Weird because it is compatible with 13th gen K/KS CPUs.

I think Asus just never tested that kit and that it should work fine.

If you don't mind the hassle, you can replace the kit with something listed here: https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-z790-e-gaming-wifi-model/helpdesk_qvl_memory/

(If you're gaming on this PC, try to get a CL 30 or CL28 kit. Low latency is better)

Also, are you using the AEMP II feature?

I think aemp II only works if you don’t have ram that supports xmp, I don’t see it listed as an option in bios.

Is it fine if the voltage is at 1.35 for vdd and vddq or will I lose performance? They’re supposed to both be at 1.4
