XP sp3, Win 7 worked. Downgraded to sell Abit AN8 w/AMD 64x2 with 4GB memory. Formatted drive, installed XP Pro with Sp2 from Genuine CD. Installed SP3 and Abit drivers.
No Audio Device found. When tryig to install Realtek Drivers, I receive message, The file " on is needed. I Read many many forums, tried everything.

Yes, the message is weird and is exactly: The file " on is needed

Did you have a crash on the initial install? Sounds like something got corrupt along the way.

Try to find and uninstall all drivers and software related to RealTek then head over and grab their Driver/installer package and try again.

For common use I have had better luck with various Linux installs on older systems. Ubuntu works pretty well and is safer for everyday use.
