A couple weeks ago I increased my RAM from 1 Gig to 2 Gigs. Since then, my pc
started taking longer and longer to reboot. In the beginning it used to take
30 seconds (with less RAM). Then it started taking 3-4 minutes, so I thought
may be I should increase RAM. But that didn't help. Now its unbearable. It
takes 8-9 minutes for the XP to launch. Any body here to shed some light on
this problem? Will highly appreciate any help.

To repair all system files, go to Start/Run, and type (or paste in): SFC /SCANNOW (see: Description of Windows XP and Windows Server
2003 System File Checker (Sfc.exe): http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;310747 )

Boot to the XP setup CD, and press 'r' for recovery console, run the command : CHKDSK /R
