Xp startup disables keyboard

Hello,
I am using a Linksys switch box to share the mouse, keyboard, and monitor on 2 computers. The problem is when I have the switchbox on the XP Station, the boot up disables the keyboard. I have to disconnect the main keyboard cable from the back of the switchbox to get it to unlock. Sooner or later the connection is going to wear out. Any suggestions?

Are you switching to the other computer while waiting for the XP one to boot? If so, then that could be why it's losing the keyboard.
