Hi everyone, i just finish buying my setup upgrade. The hardware i bought is

i7 12700f

16x2gb ram ddr5 XPG Lancer Black RGB 5200mhz

And the problem is this, since i have an 12700F version i was going to buy an MSI Tomahawk ddr5 B660 motherboard, this mb says on msi Webpage that supports up to 6200mhz of ram. When i go to the XPG webpage and check the compatibility list of LANCER DDR5 Ram it says a lot of models of motherboard but only on the z690 version. So which one is it? If i buy a b660 msi tomahawk ddr5 ram just won't work? should i buy MSI PRO-A z690? I really don't know what to do, if just ignore XPG list and trust MSI Specifications on B660 or what.

Thanks in advance.!

The memory controller on the i7-12700F can go to 4800MHZ for DDR5 out of the box. Anything beyond that will need an overclock or an X.M.P profile applied to the board. As for your board, in theory any ram kit will work on your board so long as it conforms to the ram slot on said motherboard. The purpose of the QVL is to state that the ram kit on QVL was used in their testing lab. If there was a QVL for all the ram kits in the world, the motherboard wouldn't have seen the light of day(release).

You're absolutely sure you're not working with an i7-12700KF, right?

Hi there. I bought the i7 12700f 100% sure. Thanks for replying, so would you think that i7, with b660 msi tomahawk and 32gb ddr5 is a good combination? I was afraid of getting stability issues. Im coming from a 4790k and ddr3 ram so… a lot of new things.
