I agree with bignastyid. Most mobo fan ports can supply no more than 2 fans. The limit is the heavy current required to start the fans up. You may have seen "splitters" for 4, 6 or 8 fans, BUT these are NOT simple splitters. They are hubs that MUST work using only 4-pin fans and a 4-pin fan port on the mobo. They actually draw power for their fans from a heavier supply line directly from the PSU, and then share a different control signal (the PWM signal) from the mobo port to all the fans on the hub.
