I am attempting to set up an ARK server to be accessed over the internet by remote friends. I believe everything except port forwarding is working... Here is the data... Any ideas?
1. Set up server and tested locally. Works fine from local computer.
NOTE: Relevant part of startup command line: ?Port=7777?QueryPort=27015
2. Opened ports in Windows Defender Firewall... Temp opened 7777-7778 and 27015-27017 on both TCP and UDP based on potential use, with plan to restrict further once it works.
3. Tested from a different computer on the LAN, using local IP address. Steam's "Servers" dialog gets a response from the server on port 27015. I believe this confirms that Windows Firewall is OK.
4. In Zyxel C3000Z DSL router, confirmed my public (WAN) IP address is the same as what Google says my IP is. I believe this confirms that CenturyLink is not applying their own NAT that could mess this up.
5. Port Forwarded all of the same (as Firewall) ports to my local server/computer.
RESULT: Can't connect via public IP.
6. Completely disabled both C3000Z's IPv4 and IPv6 firewall. Still can't connect via public IPv4 address.
7. Put my server in C3000Z's DMZ. Still can't connect via public IPv4 address.
8. Restarted the router. Still can't connect via public IP.
9. Retested from 2nd local computer... I can still connect via the local IP, but not via the public IP.
Can anyone think of something else to try? Has anyone had the same issue?
Thanks.
