So after getting a $100 check from a relative, I have chosen the

-Hyper 212 EVO CPU Fan ($20-$30, Amazon)
-Sentry Mix 2 Fan Controller ($30, Amazon)

That leaves about $60 for other customizations, and I don't really know what to do with it (I have already acknowledged saving up for a new CPU, GPU, etc.)

Specs:
-Corsair Obsidian 450D
-Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 (Rev. 4)
-AMD Phenom II X6 1065T (Is about to be AMD FX 8350)
-EVGA Geforce GTX 760 SC ACX
(Those were the main specs, you can ask for the rest in an answer)

My Preferences:
-It's a blue and black build
-Fan cooling, not water cooling
-I'm not really adding anything to the outside of the case, unless it's really cool and not a sticker of some sort.
-I'm not into SSDs (If I knew about the advantages about them over HDDs, maybe I'd want one.)

Ideas:
-Maybe a 3x120mm fans piece (do they make those by any chance, sorta like a watercooling radiator, but just for airflow???
-Some cool random thing you find
-Something that looks cool inside the computer or makes other components look cool

Thanks! :)

You need the Corsair Link Lighting Node! I have just decided.

😉

is frozencpu back up and fully running, know there was a huge shakeup there...

the corsair link is a good call...

the fan controller may be redundant with a new mb or even your current one, unless you want it for the panel look... the wires on those things also become a pain to manage cleanly...

as for ssd... vastly improved load times and booting, now seem to be just as reliable as mechanical... 1/5th the load time in user side loading games/software in my experience (rift, wow, photoshop, illustrator, autocad, borderlands 2/tps)

you could also upgrade the hyper 212 to a phanteks tc12dx (in a variety of colors), much prefer their mounting hardware and looks (and acoustics) to the 212.

there's also avexir blitz and now raiden ram as well for visual punch. corsair has their tiers of dominators that illuminate, as does crucial with the ballistix tracer series.

Honestly...if you haven't already purchased, I would combine the $60 left over and get a Noctua NHD14/D15 or Phanteks TC14PE instead of the 212 EVO. The EVO is a GREAT budget cooler. I have used several. But it's going to hold back any overclocking you want to do with that up-coming 8350 in your plans. 4.4-4.5GHz on the EVO can become 4.7-4.8 on the Noctua or Phanteks coolers.

I didn't really see how it worked... besides, i was tired at the time and realized it was $30, not $60.

So now, I've decided that I want fans. With the case, there is the dust filter/mesh on the top, and I need to add fans to blow air out of there.

-Do I need static or airflow fans, because there is that fine mesh?
-Do I go with 2x140mm or 3x120mm (I've heard that some people have to take out their optical drives to fit in the fans)
-If the above in the parentheses are true, do i have to do 2x120mm?

Thanks :)
