Sony F-500R (being updated to F-520R) 21" flat screen monitor has a 0.22mm aperture grille pitch (the finest available). In this size the Lacie electron22 (as somebody mentions earlier is also pretty good), as well as the Iiyama Visionmaster 22" and Mitsubishi 22" models (these all use the same flat Mitsubishi tube). I have tried the Lacie and the Iiyama, the Sony is superior, but you have to pay a premium for it ($1899.99);

Sony F-400 (F-420) 19" equivalent of F-500;

Summary: the Sony professional range is, in my opinion, the ultimate range of monitors, the best being the 24" or 21" depending on your use.

what about this? the resolution might be a bit poor, 800x600@100Hz, not at all bad for watching DVDs, 32 inch widescreen sony tv hooked just for watching DVDs, the only reason i ever use it, for everything else i just use my lacie electron 22 blue, the sweetest screen ive ever seen

They may have those two lines,but eventualy you´ll quit niticing them!

Besides that , Sony monitor´s picture quality put every other brand´s to shame!

Does your desktop stretch to fill the width of the wide screen television when you are not watching DVDs.

Ya, but i had one go bad in about 3 months. Got another one today and will see how it holds up. My friend got a KDS 17" fd about a year ago and it still runs good. Maybe a freak break down, ya never know
