"only those with deep pockets can afford to buy both the display and the appropriate amount of bandwidth."

I disagree...
I saw a 39" 4K TV yesterday at Tigerdirect for $299

Netflix requires roughly 25Mbps for 4K streaming.
I'm lucky enough to get 56.8 Mbps and I'm currently on a deal for $64.99 per month WITH basic SD cable.

You always get what you pay for. Latest tech for only $300, there have to be some tradeoofs.

Yeah, that TV is limited to 30hz at 4k, which is absolute garbage for anything another than movie watching.

Not that useful for that either. How many movies do you get that are in 4K?
I'd rather have 1920x1080/60 than 4K/30

My TV has a motion smoother. The difference is night-and-day, especially with 24 fps content. Even though there are sometimes artifacts, I leave it on the maximum setting. The only exception is for games, where I wouldn't use it since it adds latency. But in game mode, the setting is completely disabled, for that very reason.
