Youtube make my game fps drop

When I listen to music on Youtube and I play a game at the same time, my FPS is a lot of the time halved and it happen enough to irritate me to a good level, what could actually cause that, hardware or software?

Having youtube run in the background does make your pc use more resources. Depending on the game it could have varying results.
A small game such as an Indie game, your pc should be fine. But for a more demanding game, your pc will be using up all its power on the game and trying to run youtube at the same time. Its to much stress on your pc I think....
