[SOLVED] Youtube video goes repeatedly black when on full screen. HP 530 G3 laptop

Hi all.

This is on my daughter's laptop, an HP 530 G3 with i5 and HD520 graphics. When watching video clips such as on Youtube, playback is fine until she 'fullscreens'. The screen then goes black after a couple of seconds and playback stops (judging by the audio). It then repeatedly flickers between short bursts of playback - a second or so - and black screen.

Drivers are updated.

Any idea on possible cause?

can you try fullscreening youtube from within win safe mode and report back?

(Do I need to choose 'safe mode' on boot-up, or can I access it through windows once loaded? Sorry for the ignorance.) Update - it's F8 on boot-up, I believe.

Ok, I got in to safe mode, but nothing works there - no sound, no internet - so I can't really test if Youtube videos play fullscreen.

Help.

There should be an option that syas something like "safe mode with networking capabilities"
