So I am trying to get better performance from my PC(Escape From Tarkov specifically)
MB:Z97 Gaming 7(MS-7916)
CPU: I7-4790k CC at 3.6ghz
Ram 16GB GDDR5
GPU: 1080 STRIX OC

I have a decent(not great) connection but I want to upgrade my ram to something better and get a M.2 SSD. Can someone give me some recomendations, not looking to push near 5-6 a little over 5 may be the max but I am looking more towards the 2-4 hundred range?

The game is still in beta...... I wouldn't go investing anything into a system hoping to get a little more performance out of it - optimization over time will do that for you.

I wouldn't upgrade your RAM in all honesty, even if you jumped from 1333MHz to 2400MHz, you;'re not going to see the net gains anywhere close to proportionate with the cost.

An M.2 isn't going to net you any noticeable gain - potentially outside of load/save times, but the M.2 slot on the board is limited to x2 (as most Z97 onboard M.2 was), so the gains over a SATA based SSD (assuming you have one?) isn't going to be dramatic.

What about a M.2 Adapter??? I was told during the beta, and even for R6 Siege, M.2 SSD increases load times which is my main problem according to the tech support at Tarkov, the game has to load the map, then the assets , and most people stated after switching to a M.2 or some crazy fast SSD, load times improved?

Oh, load times will improve - if you're running a traditional HDD currently (you haven't stated). The difference between an HDD and even a SATA3 SSD is going to be huge in load times, SATA3 to M.2 PCIe SSDs....outside of benchmarks, just don't "feel" like huge upgrades.

For example, booting. My system (pre-M.2, only SATA3 SSD) booted in <10 seconds. The M.2 PCIe drive, it's <7 seconds.
