Z170 Pro Gaming- do I need a sound card?

Hi all-
Im thinking of getting some 2.1 speakers for my room to use for some music. Question is, can i connect the speaker wires to my mobo? Or will i need a sound card for this? Additionally, what is the Supreme FX like? Good enough or are other apparatus needed?

Most new motherboards these days have very good sound; 7.1 or even 8.1. It will do fine for audio unless you're a high-end audio perfectionist.

That's great to hear, i believe that will be good enough. However, does my motherboard have the correct ports that is needed so that i would be able to plug in the wires from 2.1 speaker? Or will i need extra equipment to connect the speakers to my motherboard? Sorry if these are silly questions as i am new to this.

They are most likely compatible--the MB has the standard pin connectors. Look it up in your MB manual if you want to check it out.
