Z170A Gaming M5 Debug Code 4C 55 00 19 0 on replacing RAM revisited

After four years with this rig’s flawless performance, last week I purchased G.Skill DDR4 2X 16GB 3600 to replace 2X 8GB 2400 and experienced the identical symptoms as the OP. https://forums.tomshardware.com/thr...herboard-nothing-after.3552186/#post-21454998

What was the disposition? I understood;
  1. don’t use the MSI Command Center, and;
  2. update the bios.
im still stuck with my new RAM only working in slots 3&4... NOT in 2&4 which yields your Debug Code 4C 55 00 19 0 ...actually I’m getting on my Z170a gaming M5 , Od 08 19 00 88 4C 55 00 0d 08 19 00 4C 55 (repeated from jogging video of the code to be sure I got it all)

still working on this but I just noticed topic was closed...thus this “addendum”

Thanks y’all
Chas

Did you do a clear CMOS after switching to the new RAM ?
And by the way, on the GSkill configurator for your motherboard the fastest sticks for 2 x 16 Gb is 2666 MhZ
https://www.gskill.com/configurator...524715120&chipset=1529051677&model=1529051731

You are way way outside the recommended specs by GSkill

What do you need ? Speed or more than 16 Gb of RAM ?
More Ram...

pulled the 2x8GB 2400...put back the 2x16GB 3600...neither would boot from Dual channel slots 2&4 (which was the origional config). Now only got post & boot from slots 3&4!

Do they give a specific reference and for how much memory and stick size ?

From the PDF manual pp 15
Memory●

● 4x DDR4 memory slots, support up to 64GB▶ ▶Supports DDR4 3600(OC)/ 3200(OC)/ 3000(OC)/ 2800(OC)/ 2600(OC)/ 2400/ 2133 MHz● ● Dual channel memory architecture● ● Supports ECC, un-buffered memory● ● Supports Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (XMP)

Thanks,
Chas
