Question z370 hd3p ram speed conundrum.

Just fitted Corsair 3200 Vengence ddr4 as a precursor to upgrading my Intel Core I5 8400 to core i7 8700.
Problem is that it isn't cpu-z shows 1666hz
I have loaded XMP No 1 (only choice) which shows 3200 +2.35 volts in the bios. CPU running at 4000.

How do I persuade it to follow instructions?

Please keep it simple and name any simple software that will do it automatically.

What BIOS version are you on for your motherboard? Link to the ram kit you're using?

Software based tuning or overclocking is not the way to go.

1666 Mhz in dual channel is 3200 MT/s.
