I have a MSI Z97 PC Mate motherboard and I cannot alter the fan speeds in my bios or with any software I have found online. My computer is super loud and I need to turn my fans down as I don't really game anymore and just want a quiet PC. I don't have any front 5 inch bays for a fan controller in my case so can anybody recommend a solution to my problem?

I have 4 fans and a watercooler(Pump needs to be on 100% speed)

Any help is appreciated.
Ben

The solution is to enable the Smart Fan Control in BIOS.
Than you can setup the fan curves in BIOS or MSI utility (i think it's called command center) or via utilities like SpeedFan.
I'm not sure if this MB can control 3pin(DC) fans on 4pin(PWM) headers, but you have 3x4pin and 2x3pin headers - should be enough.

Thank you I will give this a try!

I gave it a try and my PC is just as loud as before, I set my CPU fan to run at 20% at idle but it is still on 1600rpm. Also 2 of the system fans don't show up in the BIOS or in MSI Command Center. 🙁

So only 4 pin headers are controllable. It might be that they can control only PWM fans (4pins).
what fans are you trying to control ?
Next time you buying MB, try to avoid MSI. They are good at marketing, but crap when it comes to engineering.
Anyway, if you want external solution, the following connects to the internal USB header and can be controlled via CAM software https://www.nzxt.com/products/grid-plus-v3. there could be similar hubs from other manufacturers.

Yeah I think I will avoid MSI whenever I build another PC. I have a 120mm Fan that came with my water cooler, my water cooler, a corsair fan that came with a case and two fans that came with the S340 case I am using currently. Thank you very much for the Grid+ suggestion I will probably go for that.
