We have the same answer, but I want to add, Z97 has PCIe 3.0 as well.

Hello... It has PCIe3 "physical" Slot, But the CPU is not directly connected to it. See Note a and chart "CPU-attached" wording. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGA_1150 your PCIe3 video card will not SYNC to this Mode and will be PCIe2 mode.
