Zalman 7000 and asus K8V-se

I am about to assemble a new system based on asusk8v-se motherboard.
I have to install a Zalman 7000 heatsink/fan which comes with a plate
to fix under the mobo.
The K8V has already such plate to keep in place the retention module
base intended to hold the standard HSF. What should I do? remove the
retention module base or this one is also good to hold the zalman?

Nice page but my question was not about possible compatibility, which
I already knew, but about using or removing the existing retention
module base in order to accomodate zalman. Asus says not to remove
the back plate; Zalman says to use their back plate.

Get hold of a hair dryer and gently toast the backplate until the
adhesive becomes soft enough to remove. Worked perfectly well with my
A8V Deluxe and my Reserator 1 backplate.

Don't do anything daft like use a screwdriver to help it off either,
otherwise you'll (possibly) be looking at a dead mobo....

Definitely use the Zalman backplate though, otherwise the heatsink won't
really have the required pressure to work correctly.

I emailed support at Zalman and they sent me (free of charge) some shorter
mounting screws to use with my k8ne retention plate. Haven't tried them yet,
I've been satisfied with the cooling and noise with the stock hs/fan.
