what really suprises me is that for once in a good while Tom's has posted a computer hardware item. No back to Tom's posting more useless info about companies.

To all the nay sayers... if you actually own one, try installing it properly. :) The case you use, and fan setup also needs to be taken into consideration.

+1 JimmySmitty :hello:

Look at these 4.25ghz, WPrime temps and tell me what is there not to like ? haha..

I have a ol' wolfdale overclocked to 4.0ghz, at max load i get 45-46c on the cnps 9900max.

The funny thing is, the fan pulls so much air that it actually keeps my gfx card like 5c cooler. When I got this cooler it was one of the few air sinks that came with a pwm fan. When combined with the included resistor cable for the pwm connection, it's pretty quite.

[citation][nom]xkm1948[/nom]Not very impressed with zalman, Used to have a cnps9700 on my old rig with q6600. It cant even keep it cool under stock speed. They do look pretty though.[/citation]
Ahahaha - Ever heard of thermal paste?

And P.S. I am running the 9700 on my Q6600 rock solid stable @ 3.00 ghz for over 5 years. I could push it to 3.4 and be under 70c but could never get the prime95 to pass. Pretty sure it wasn't heat related - I just didn't win the "chip" lottery.

Zalman aren't made for looks man... Ask someone who is versed in underclocking to make sure you installed it right - no offense.
