Hey all.
I'm currently building my pc, but had to stop yesterday due to frustration over one particular fan at the back of the case which isn't a small 3-pin that goes onto the mobo. It is a huge connection that has two connectors, one 4 pin male and one 4-holed female, one facing one way with the other joined to it facing the opposite (Male and female, right? I hope so... 😛)
So what do I do with it?
Thanks all

small 4 pin goes to motherboard, big 4 pin is molex and need to be powered from PSU by molex cable. Check your psu it may have that connector. Its used when fan may need too much power which motherboard may not be able provide. You may be able to plug 4 pin to 3 pin on motherboard but better is to use reduction maybe you got it with fan/case/motherboard or you can buy such.

If your PSU is not modular check if it got similar power cable. If it's modular search supplied cables or check if you can buy molex cable for your PSU.

If you won't be able to find that molex cable to power fan, you should check with manufactuer of both board and fan/case for specification how much power it can drain. If it will be in safety limit you can just...

If it will be in safety limit you can just power it from motherboard if it would be getting over limit of motherboard rather don't use it as it would be risk for your motherboard.
