Is it possible to play Zork:GI without needing to have the cd in the drive?
I've looked for a no-cd crack and can't find one.

Have you tried creating a CD image on your hard drive and playing it off
that?

I've done this, but unfortunately, I've uninstalled it so I don't
remember the details.

You don't need a crack. Just do a maximum install, then look
through the program directory for some sort of configuration
file (it's like .idx or .izx or something like that). Anyway,
you'll find it pointing to directories on the CD0: and CD1:
for some things. Copy these directories to your computer and
modify the config file to point to those. Not only will
it play, it'll absolutely fly if you've got a decent computer.

N.B. This was the only way I could play it on my laptop
with XP. It would never believe the CD was in the drive.

Thanks very much. I'll try it.
