I recently built a computer and wanted to play games on higher graphics but on some games, my screen goes black and my computer fans (not sure which but assuming graphics card) becomes really loud. this happens when I'm around 2 min in game and during that 2 min, everything was fine. running the game on max settings with +60 fps and all of a sudden this happens.

my build:

- core i5-2500 3.4GHZ

- 8GB ram (G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 288-Pin DDR4 )

- Zotac GTX 1060 mini 3GB

- PSU: TR2 500W (http://www.thermaltake.com/products-model.aspx?id=c_00001655)

- Samsung SSD 250gb

- 1TB HDD

- motherboard: gigabyte z270p-d3 (https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-Z270P-D3-rev-10#kf)

Extra details:

One of the games I had this problem with was Borderlands 2.

When I first load a new game it is fine but after the cut scene and when you wake up from the ground, I run the game smoothly on max settings, +60fps, but then after a few steps in game, the computer screen turns black (says "no signal") and can hear something disconnect which I'm guessing is the monitor. I can still hear the background apps running and I can hear sounds from the game but can't do anything so I reset my comp and everything is back to normal.

Another game is CS:GO.

Same problem as borderlands however this happened on certain maps. At first, I played a competitive match on Mirage and then monitor went black and loud fans. I then lowered the video settings, reconnected, and was able to play.

I played a diff competitive match on Dust II but then even on the lowest graphics, my monitor went black and loud fans happened. I tried to reconnect twice and when I did, the issue occurred on both occasions.

During the short intervals when I'm able to move before this issue occurs, the game runs smoothly.

Games like League of Legends, Overwatch, Diablo III, and Super Hot (VR) doesn't seem to have this problem at all.

I tried updating my BIOS, graphics driver and such but had no success.

I read multiple threads regarding the similar issue and some said its the PSU that needed to be fixed, or it was a faulty graphics card.

This issue is really bugging me and want to fix this asap.

Thanks

Solution
seems like it only happens when GPU is taxed.

Try uninstalling driver using DDU then install fresh driver.

If not fixed. try using internal GPU. if problem gone GPU and PSU could either be the cultprit.

try loading GPU woth furmark see if it happens.

if still happens you need to try a different gpu or psu to isolate the issue.
