Dvi d to hdmi help please

most monitors if not all of them wont do 1440p through hdmi unless they have HDMI 2.0. since your gpu doesnt, you should run through dvi. if your gpu doesnt have 2 x dvi ports, alternatively you can use a displayport to dvi active adapter for the second monitor.

Can my pc run 144hz monitors?

it is good enough to drive 144hz monitors however not good enough when gaming is involved since its not strong enough to score above 60 fps in 1080p , so you wont benefit from the higher refresh rate.
