most monitors if not all of them wont do 1440p through hdmi unless they have HDMI 2.0. since your gpu doesnt, you should run through dvi. if your gpu doesnt have 2 x dvi ports, alternatively you can use a displayport to dvi active adapter for the second monitor.

What you need to know is that there are 'passive' and 'active' adapters . The later are mantadorty when signal conversion is needed (analog to digital and vice versa) or resolution exceeds 1920*1200p. In your case a common 'passive' adapter like the one posted, will work just fine.

what is your pc hardware? you are limiting your options for no good reason. you dont really need 3x hdmi , your desktop will easily run trough dvi or dp at 1080 or 1440p.
