I did a new Skylake build last Oct 2020 and everything had been going fine up until last month when some annoying high-pitched whine started making it's way into my ears. And it's been getting worse. Alternating up & down. Even with just doing basic web browsing stuff only.

I've pinned the cause to the CPU fan (which is the Intel stock fan). I'm not all that techie anymore, but I'm assuming I need to replace the fan with somethin else.

According to HWinfo64 v7.00, my system temps are around 38C, my CPU around 35C. My CPU fan speed is about 1870 RPM and my other 3 case fans are hanging around 833 to 875 RPM.

First thing... I've never taken a fan off a CPU before and need to ask for some guidance on doing it correctly without screwing up the CPU.

Second... Any recommendations on a decent replacement fan cooler type for my i5-6600 CPU?

My System:
Case: Corsair Carbide 200R Compact ATX Mid Case - Black
PSU: Corsair CX750M 750 Watt Semi-Modular ATX PSU
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-B250-HD3 LGA 1151
CPU: Intel Core I5-6600 FC-LGA14C 3.30 Ghz 6 M Processor Cache 4 LGA 1151
Ram:Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2x16GB) 2133MHz C13 DDR4 DRAM
SSD: Samsung (MZ-V7S1T0B/AM) 970 EVO Plus SSD 1TB - M.2 NVMe
HDD: Seagate BarraCuda 4TB Internal Hard Drive HDD
GPU: Gigabyte Gv-N1650OC-4GD GeForce GTX 1650 OC 4G Graphics Card

Thanks!
