I recently purchased the Roav Smart Car Charger F2. The listed frequency range in the data sheet is 87.5 - 108 MHz.(https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1...er_F2_R5111_EU_Manual.pdf?3419059451899906623)

I can't tune it below 88.1 MHz with the app or built-in controls.

I can use it at 88.1 MHz, but there is still minor interference. My previous BT to FM transmitter could transmit at 87.9 MHz at which there was no interference.

I have the latest version of the companion app. I found nothing about flash updating the transmitter itself.

Has anyone else had this issue? How do I access the full frequency range?

What about using the FM radio per Pages 4 & 5 of the linked Owner's Manual?
This is the only way to use the device as far as I know. I followed this procedure twice, using the built-in buttons and the app. I was never able to tune the transmitter below 88.1 MHz despite the minimum being describe as 87.5 MHz on Page 9, Specifications. There are no frequencies above 88.0 that are usable. My previous BT FM transmitter (now broken) worked flawlessly in the same region (NW USA) at 87.9 MHz. This leads me to believe that the key to success is transmitting below 88.0 MHz

I contacted tech support. They did not immediately tell me that the data sheet was wrong which gives me hope that the device is genuinely defective and should be able to reach 87.5 MHz. They did the classic "are you sure you aren't a dumb-dumb?" and asked me to redo the setup procedure. I am not convinced I am a dumb-dumb, yet.

What was/is your desired/required frequency?

87.9 MHz? (If I correctly understand your original post.)

Yes, 87.9 MHz worked well with my last BT FM transmitter. After conversing with tech support, they determined that my device is defective. I doubt the English comprehension of the employee so I am still not sure what the actual frequency range is. Either way, I am returning this in favor of a BT casette adapter. Fighting against radio interference in this city might be a losing battle.

Dear <NAME REDACTED> ,

Thanks for your information.

Please help to do the following troubleshooting:
a. Turn on your car radio and turn up the volume of your car speaker as much as you can
b. Try every FM frequency from 87.5-107.9MHz(lowest to highest) on your radio. When the radio has white noise (not any broadcast), remember the frequency.
c. Turn down the volume. Plug in car charger and connect it with the app. Modulate its FM frequency to the same frequency as the car radio's.

If not work, I am afraid the device is defective.

Best regards,

I am already familiar with this procedure. There are clear frequencies, but they are below 88.1 Mhz. I need to set the Smart Car Charger to transmit below 88.1 MHz. The data sheet for the Smart Car Charger F2 states that the lowest frequency it can transmit on is 87.5. I cannot tune it below 88.1 MHz, thus, I can't access the full frequency range that was advertised.

I bought this on Amazon and assume that their free return policy applies. I will return it to them and tell them it was defective.
Thanks.
