Hello everyone,

I'm thinking to build a new streaming gaming PC and below are the list of components for the build. Please let me know / advise if the build below is worth buying.

CPU: intel i5-14400F
GPU: Asus Dual RTX 4070 Super
MOBO: MSI Pro B660M-A Wifi
RAM: Corsair Pro SL RGB 2x16gb DDR4
STORAGE: XPG Gammix S70 Blade 1TB
CASE: Coolermaster TD300 Mesh Black
AIO: Corsir iCue H100i Capellix
PSU: Seasonic Focus GX850 Gold
Monitor: MSI G27C4X monitor. 27" 250hz

Total: USD$2,035.00

Hey there,

I'd make two changes. The 14400f is a solid gamer chip. Bumping up to a 14600k will ensure you have plenty of headroom in terms of CPU processing resource.

Also, 2 x 16gb kit is the way to go, at least 32gb. A lot of games shoot upward of 16gb now, so a min of 32gb to allow more free resources for gaming/streaming.

I5-14400F is a fine processor, but spend $25 more for the non F i5-14400
If you should ever have a graphics card issue, you will be glad you did.

I5-14400 is a 65w processor that comes with a perfectly adequate stock cooler.
Do not spend $100 on an aio cooler when it is not necessary.
On newegg, I5-14500 is only $5 more.

Just a note about the CPU. Ideally i would pick the 13600K, but the prices being what they are, it makes much more sense to go with a 12700K. The 13600K has some advantages but they are tiny compared to the difference in price.

The 14400 is a little bit... eh. It's ok. The CPU is indeed fine, it's the price. I think it's a mistake.

Ditto buying any kind of AIO on a mid range CPU.

Finally, i don't know how you got to two grand on that build. It's far too much money for a 4070 build even with a monitor.

Anyway, i swapped a few things around, kept some of the choices and i suggest this build:

The only reason i picked the Gigabyte GPU is it has three fans and they tend to be a little quieter as the fans don't need to work so hard.
Also, Asus GPUs tend to be over-overclocked. Bear that in mind.

You might also give amds 7900gre a look as far as gpu. If you find you need to save money, look at the older 12600k or kf. The 12600kf can be found around $160, but from what I’ve read it is pretty much on par with the 14400.

Op do you have a microcenter near you? If so check them out. They’ve usually got bundles to get a 12600kf cpu, z690 board and 16gb of ram for 250. Of they’ve got the same deal with a 12700k for 329.

On the other hand they’ve been doing deals on the 7800x3d, 32gb and boards for 500, and I think the same with 7700x at 400.

You want a ATX 3.0 psu for these RTX 40XX cards. A 750W psu will work fine for that build. Here's a few cost cutters including a five pipe cpu cooler that will clear that RGB RAM.

This is my personal take with that budget and with hundreds left over for whatever monitor you want. Your original build is not bad based on the parts, but with context to how much its costing you, its definitely not worth it.

Another consideration, getting an even faster GPU, than the AMD build.
